Last November it was revealed that the Microsoft Edge web browser would be the only browser to have 4K support for Netflix content, although worst of all, at that time the requirements were much more difficult to meet, such as a Intel Kaby Lake processor and a compatible display.

However, NVIDIA has now announced the expansion of support for 4K content on Netflix, although for now the new feature is in the preliminary stages and includes the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10 series of graphics cards.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10 Series brings support for 4K resolution on Netflix

According to a post published by NVIDIA, PC users with a GeForce GTX 1050 or higher graphics card, as well as a monitor compatible with the HDCP 2.2 standard, will be able to enjoy Netflix content in 4K resolution through Microsoft Edge or the official Netflix app for Windows 10. Apart from these two things, users will also require an internet connection of at least 25Mbit so that there are no crashes during playback.

In the case of dual monitor configurations, if one of the monitors does not meet the HDCP 2.2 standard then the quality will be downgraded to Full HD. It should also be noted that SLI / LDA configurations are not yet supported, but users will be able to enjoy 4K resolution on Netflix with NVIDIA graphics cards and HDCP 2.2 monitors.

Despite being in the early stages currently, support for 4K on Netflix should fully work with all Pascal GPUs with 3GB of VRAM or more, although this also automatically excludes 2GB GTX 1050 cards.

If you have a compatible PC configuration as well as a subscription to the Netflix platform, tell us in the comments section if you can already watch 4k content or not.
