Linux has a new vulnerability that affects android
A new vulnerability has been discovered in the Linux kernel, this time it also affects Android 4.4 and higher and allows hackers to gain access to devices.
This new vulnerability has been identified as CVE-2016-0728 and has been around for almost three years since the Linux 3.8 kernel. A problem that allows cyber criminals to achieve privilege escalation to end access to certain system functions for which root access is required.
It is estimated that this problem currently affects ten million systems running under Linux and 66% of Android devices. From Google they affirm that they are already working on a solution to the problem and estimate that the number of affected devices is less than expected.
