Kingston's gaming division HyperX has launched a new series of microSD cards for Gaming. This is one more response to the trend of bringing to Smartphones and other portable devices the same 'gaming product fever' that dominates the console and computer market.

MicroSD HyperX for mobile gamers and consoles like the Switch

This type of move, that of announcing a microSD as a 'gaming' product, had already been implemented by brands like SanDisk in the past. Well, it must be said that the crutch makes sense, since consoles such as the Nintendo Switch whose storage is expandable by SD proliferate, and more and more games arrive on smartphones and tablets.

In any case, the main thing in an 'acceptable' microSD card for games is its performance. These cards will feature A1 and U3 speeds with readings up to 100MB / s and writes up to 80MB / s and will be backed by a lifetime warranty policy .

The new SD will be available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB versions at prices of $ 50 for the former and $ 200 for the latter.

These prices exceed models such as the high durability versions of the different brands (MLC) or models such as the Sandisk Extreme PRO that promise the same performance and cost approximately $ 30 for 64GB models. Regarding 256GB cards, there are basic models for just $ 100.

What do you think of this new release? Do you think Kingston has taken too abusive a pricing policy?
