Logitech has announced its first ultra- flat gaming keyboards: G915 Lightspeed Wireless and the G815 Lightsync RGB, outfitted with their new low-profile mechanical keys. The keyboards will be available throughout this month.

G915 Lightspeed Wireless and G815 Lightsync RGB will be available throughout this month of August

The keyboards feature an exceptionally slim aluminum chassis reinforced by a steel base, helping to reduce their overall height to just 22mm. Of course, the height reduction is also due to the new low-key Logitech GL keys.

One of the biggest problems with today's mechanical keyboards is that they are mostly too loud and make quite a bit of noise when you press. Low-profile keys help reduce overall keyboard size and make keystrokes quieter.

The new Logitech GL keys are only half the height of the existing Romer-G keys and have a shorter actuation distance of 1.5mm instead of 2mm. Their total travel distance is 3mm and they are operated with 45g of force. Currently, there are three variations of this type of switch to choose from: the GL Clicky, which provides more audible and tactile keystrokes, the GL Tactile for a more subtle keystroke, and the GL Linear, which has a completely smooth keystroke.

As the name suggests, the G915 Lightspeed Wireless differs from the G815 in that it supports Logitech's Lightspeed Wireless protocol, which allows a response time of just 1 millisecond. This model's battery is said to have enough charge for around 135 days of uninterrupted use without backlighting, or more than 12 days (assuming eight hours of gameplay per day) with the RGB lights on. The G915 can also be used during charging when connected via the included micro-USB cable and reaches full charge in 3 hours.

The Logitech G815 will cost about 199.99 and the G915 about $ 249.99.
