EK has said that the entire CPU block was designed from the ground up to meet the requirements of the new socket and to integrate multiple connectivity options for the server racks. That said, the new server CPU water block supports 1U chassis type for use with server-type motherboards and workstations.

With the launch of the new generation of Xeon Scalable Family processors with socket LGA3647-0 (socket P0), the need arose for a water block with a larger contact surface. The design goal of the new EK-Anihilator EX / EP water block was to cover the entire IHS of Intel processors. The EK-Annihilator EX / EP water block has a total of 6 ports, allowing versatile connectivity options. Two top ports use the G1 / 4 ″ standard, while the side ports use G1 / 8 ″.

EK's new water block features a precision machined copper base (sometimes called a “cold plate”) that is made from the purest copper available on the market and is electroplated with nickel. The upper part is made of durable black POM Acetal CNC machined and the square CPU ILM clamp bracket is CNC made from a thick piece of aluminum.
