First-time users of Ryzen's third generation should be careful, as their new processor may not be able to run Bungie's Destiny 2, as several early buyers have discovered today.

Ryzen 3000 processors have trouble running Destiny 2

At this time Bungie is said to be investigating the issue, but as of yet there is no fix available for this bug. Right now, the Destiny 2 executable file appears in the Windows Task Manager, but it never loads correctly, preventing you from playing the game normally. This only seems to happen with Ryzen 3000 processors.

The exact culprit for this error was not identified at the time of this writing, but it is suspected that the latest AMD X570 chipset could be to blame for the problem. Other games have been reported to have had issues, such as the Metro Exodus benchmarking and evaluation utility, which doesn't seem to work with X570 motherboards, Overclock3D reported. There also appear to be no issues with Destiny 2 with users using 400 series motherboards in conjunction with Ryzen 3000 processors.

In a few days, Bungie is likely to release a new patch for Destiny 2 that will fix the problem, but until then new users who own Ryzen 3000 will not be able to run the game, unless some workaround comes out sooner.

At the moment, it is the only game, apart from the Metro Exodus utility, which has shown problems with the new Ryzen processors, so this error seems to be very punctual of the Bungie game. We will keep you informed.
