Security firm Security Research Labs has conducted an analysis of a wide variety of Android phones to analyze their security patches. They were looking to check if manufacturers applied all available security patches. Something that seems to be that it is not. Since according to what they say, the manufacturers have skipped some patches.

In many cases the patches do not reach the phones. Even, cases have been detected in which the manufacturer changes the date of the security update without installing any patch. So it seems like this is a large-scale issue on Android. The study analyzed 1, 200 phones from many brands, most of them the most important on the market.

As conclusions, it is seen that in the low range it is where the patches have been skipped the most. While in the high range it occurs, although much less frequently. Also depending on the processor it happens. Since MediaTek processor phones have skipped many more patches.

It is undoubtedly a study that questions whether things are done well on Android. Google has commented that they are checking everything they have said in the study. So we may soon know much more about it.
