Modders work coffee lake on intel 100 and 200 motherboards

Intel Coffee Lake processors have been controversial for their incompatibility with the motherboards of the Intel 100 and 200 series, remember that these are based on the LGA 1151 socket just like Coffee Lake. It has been the elisw, dsanke, littlehill MovAX and 0xDEAD modders who have released a guide to show users how to run the newest Intel processors on the motherboards of previous Slykake and Kaby Lake generations. For their tests they have used an ASRock H110. Despite this, they warn that it is a risky process and is not recommended for Core i5 and i7 processors due to their power limits, higher than those that are prepared to support Intel 100 and 200 motherboards.

Long ago there was talk that 100 and 200 motherboards could be perfectly compatible with Coffee Lake, although the problem is that they are not designed to withstand the power demand of six-core processors, something that would have been confirmed on the part of of these modders.

This mod proves that there is no technical reason why Intel's Core i3 Coffee Lake is compatible with the company's previous platforms. Over time, we are likely to see other BIOS modders use this guide to try to get other Coffee Lake CPUs to work on Intel 100/200 motherboards, demonstrating once and for all if Coffee Lake's 6 core processors could somehow have been compatible with these platforms before or not.
