Unboxing and design
Mach Xtreme presents its 64GB flash drive in a cardboard box that on its front specifies both the model and the speed of reading, writing and compatibility with USB 3.1 and 3.0 connections.
The Mach Xtreme MX Barium has dimensions of 72.9 x 18.1 x 8.3 mm and weighs just 12 grams. Its design is orange and incorporates two transparent plastic protectors for each normal USB connection (Type A) as for the Type-C connection.
Specifically, this 64 GB model works at a reading speed of 200MB / s and a writing speed of 70 MB / s.
The Mach Xtreme MX Barium pendrive It offers USB 3.1 functionality, which will allow us to get the most out of the USB 3.0 ports of the new motherboards and computers of the moment.
It supports both Windows 10/8 / 8.1 / 7, Linux, Android and Apple operating systems. It also has RoHS, FCC, CE and Windows 8 certificates.
Test of performance
As we can see in our tests, the pendrive offers a reading rate of 200 MB / s and a writing rate of 100 MB / s. It is not the best flash drive that has passed our test bench, but its performance is quite remarkable.
Final words and conclusion
The Mach Xtreme MX Barium is a USB storage device that offers us great features at a price affordable for all budgets. It is currently in three available models: 64GB, 128GB and 256GB.
We also recommend reading the history of the USB memory.
We find it very interesting, since it allows it to be used with the classic USB 3.0 connection and the new USB 3.1 Type-C standard that allows it to be used on both sides without breaking the connector. Currently there are several miniPCs, motherboards and boxes that incorporate it.
In our performance tests we have achieved a reading speed of 200 MB / s and 100 MB / s of writing. In the transfer of files from an SSD to the Mach Xtreme MX Barium 64GB we have achieved about 100 MB / s of writing. That is, 30% more power than promised by the manufacturer.
It has not yet reached Spanish stores, but it is estimated that its arrival is imminent. Its price will be affordable and Mach Xtreme will offer a 2 year warranty support.
