Mafia 3 is already on the street and we have the first benchmarks of the new video game. The results are quite surprising and show us a title that will wreak havoc on your graphics card, no matter how powerful it is. We are facing what is surely the most demanding game on the market and more than spectacular graphics for an optimization that leaves much to be desired.

Mafia 3 1080p, impossible to hold 60 FPS

Mafia 3 is so demanding that even a GeForce GTX 1080 SLI (which by the way doesn't work) is unable to maintain an average of 60 FPS. If we compare it with GTA V we see that the new Mafia 3 is three times slower with the same graphic quality, almost nothing. On the AMD side, we see its most powerful mono-GPU card, the Fury X, only reaching 45 FPS of minimum framerate and 50 FPS of maximum, almost almost the same as the GTX 1070.

The owners of a GeForce GTX 600/700 or a Radeon HD 7000 / R9 will see how their equipment will sweat even to maintain the 30 FPS, to the point that the GTX 780 Ti does not top of the range can not even maintain 30 FPS.

We went up one step to 1440p resolution and we see how Mafia 3 continues to wreak havoc, in this case a GTX 1080 SLI as well as a single card offer the same performance not being able to withstand a framerate higher than 43 FPS, second on the list It is the GeForce GTX 1070 that does not reach more than 39 FPS.

Finally we see the tests at 4K or 2160p resolution in which no card is capable of reaching 30 FPS, the GeForce GTX 1080 remains at a paltry 25 FPS maximum with drops to 23 FPS. On the AMD side, the Fury X only reaches 20 FPS, so the game is clearly unplayable at this resolution without lowering the graphic detail.

Crysis and Assassin's Creed Unity have been well-remembered games for being tremendously demanding for hardware at the time, Mafia 3 is the new king of demand and we see a game with a very nefarious optimization that creeps even in teams that cost more than 2000 euros.
