Today we have a wide market of mini PCs with a very small size and very respectable power levels, all accompanied by a tiny energy consumption that makes them perfect for everyday tasks such as web browsing, email, multimedia playback and even play some undemanding titles.

Within the multitude of Mini PCs we find the MagicStick Wave that arrives with a size so compact that it could go through a pendrive, very much in the style of the Intel Compute Stick, although this does not prevent it from having specifications above most of the mini PCs of this style.

The MagicStick Wave hides inside an advanced Intel Cherry Trail Z8700 processor consisting of four 14nm Airmont cores that operate at a maximum frequency of 2.4 GHz, along with an eighth-generation Intel HD Graphics GPU consisting of 16 EUs at a maximum frequency of 600 MHz. We are therefore in front of a much more powerful and advanced processor than that mounted by most mini PCs.

Accompanying the processor we find nothing more and less than 8 GB of RAM for excellent fluidity in Windows 10 and Android 5.1 Lollipop operating systems. As for internal storage, it has 64 GB expandable through microSD up to an additional 128 GB. It is important to note that Windows 10 is not activated, but it is a three-month trial version, a negative point that can take a lot of interest from the device.

Its smooth features are completed by an HDMI 2.0 port that enables playback of 4K and 60 FPS content and a USB 3.1 Type-C port. The bundle includes an application to control the MagicStick Wave from our smartphone or tablet.

A very powerful and compact system whose main drawback is a very high presale price (shipping in December) of $ 249 + shipping costs at IngieGogo, its price once on the market is expected to be even higher, $ 400.

MagicStick One, a much cheaper option

Thinking about the pockets of the thickest of mortals offers a much cheaper option, the MagicStick One, priced at $ 99 + shipping. In this case the processor is reduced to a Cherry Trail Z8300 at 1.83 GHz and the RAM and internal storage remain at 2 GB and 32 GB respectively. The rest of the characteristics remain the same as its older brother.
