Micron ION 5210 is available in the 2.5-inch (7mm) SATA form factor in capacities ranging from 1.92TB to 7.68TB. A typical 1U 10-bay chassis can be packed with 10 7.68TB Micron 5210 ION drives to achieve the capacity to store 76.8TB of data, an impressive thing that will help data developers meet today's demands with room for necessary growth in the future. Hiding inside is 96-layer NAND QLC memory technology developed by Intel and Micron, which offers enormous storage density.

According to Sumit Sadana, Micron Executive Vice President and Chief Business Officer, the Micron ION 5210 will usher in a new generation of storage products that will enable cloud and corporate customers to experience the benefits of NAND memory in an expanding matrix. or workloads previously relegated to slow, energy-hungry hard drives.

For now, no details have been given on the prices of these new SSDs, they are expected to hit the market in the fall, at which time they will talk about prices, resistance and speeds.
