At the SC17 trade show, Micron is demonstrating various products currently unavailable to the business market. Among other things, the company is unveiling its upcoming Micron 9200 ECO U. 2 SSD with an 11TB capacity, as well as an 8TB drive belonging to the Micron 5100 series.

Micron 9200 ECO is a new 11TB SSD

The Micron 9200 family of SSDs was introduced earlier this year and was designed for applications with different performance and endurance requirements. The units are based on 32-layer 3D NAND TLC memory and will be available in capacities ranging from 1.6TB to 11TB.

The Micron 9200 ECO is the latest addition to the product line that is targeted at write-intensive applications and will be available in 8 and 11 TB capacities with a nominal resistance of 11.7 and 16.1 PB, respectively. Performance wise, these SSDs are capable of sequential read speeds of 3.35 GB / s - 5.5 GB / s, as well as 800K and 900K random read IOPS, depending on the interface used (PCIe 3.0 x4 or x8).

Unfortunately, there is still no definitive release date for the Micron 9200 ECO.

8TB Micron 5100

In addition to the 11TB U. 2 drive, the company is demonstrating an 8TB version of the Micron 5100 series, which has not been officially introduced. The Micron 5100 family is based on the company's 32-layer TLC NAND 3D flash memory as well as Marvell's 88SS1074 controller. The largest capacity officially offered by the Micron 5100 range is 7, 680 GB.

We also don't know when this unit will ship and at what price it will. We will keep you updated on these two new high capacity SSD drives.
