Microsoft will open its data center in Qatar

Last year, Microsoft discussed its plans to expand its services in the Middle East. Specifically, they wanted to have a greater presence of their cloud services. So they set out to find a country in which to open a new data center. Finally, it seems that the American firm has already found a destination for said center. In fact, they have already obtained the green light.

Although the country has already given the green light to this new center, Microsoft has not said anything at the moment. Surely in the next few hours we will have more information about it or a statement from the company confirming this opening. If all goes well, construction would have to start this year. Although so far no dates are handled in this regard. So we also do not know the date on which it would officially open.

The company had previously announced plans to expand its Azure platform in the Middle East. After talks in several countries, Qatar has been chosen or has given the go-ahead to the Redmond project.
