Cortana is an assistant that does not have it easy on the market. From the beginning it has not finished connecting with users and its launch has not been well organized either. It is a collaboration between Microsoft Research, Cortana Research and RMIT University of Melbourne. The objective of it is to facilitate Cortana to acquire new skills. So that users see that the wizard can perform many more functions than the current ones.

One of the objectives is that the interaction with the assistant by users is much more fluid. In addition, acquiring new skills will be much easier to offer a better service and interact naturally with users. Since Cortana is currently not in a position to compete with assistants like Alexa. So Microsoft has to improve its current assistant a lot if they want it to survive in the market. Also, Alexa is improving faster. Something that makes the situation even more difficult.
