Microsoft announces surface laptop 2 with 85% more performance

Surface Laptop 2 adds eighth-generation Intel processors and the slimmest touchscreen ever

Called the Surface Laptop 2, the second-generation model is supposed to be 85% faster than the previous generation, and uses the thinnest LCD screen ever in a touch-screen laptop. The price of the basic model is falling about $ 100 for this generation to $ 899 and will go on sale this October 16.

This year's Surface Laptop 2 appears to be almost entirely a spec update keeping the same design. Although Microsoft has not disclosed all the details of the laptop, the hardware appears to be identical, due to the port situation, which means another year without USB-C. The laptop will continue to have a 13.5-inch screen, and Microsoft continues to estimate 14.5 hours of battery life for uninterrupted video playback. However, he claims that typing in this version will be quieter thanks to a new technology implemented on the keyboard.

The Surface (1) laptop was announced in the middle of last year and became a success, thanks to its balance in size, power and style. But still, it had flaws. The original model started with just 4GB of RAM and did not include USB-C ports, even though they were becoming more standard. It seems that USB-C will continue to be a pending issue and Microsoft has not wanted to mention what will happen with RAM either. Would they increase it to 8GB in the basic model?

With Surface Laptop, Microsoft is targeting college students and everyday customers who just want reliable equipment to get things done and don't need that much power.
