Microsoft releases a security patch for 55 vulnerabilities

Microsoft was expected to release a security patch in early May to address various vulnerabilities present. These vulnerabilities could refer to the system itself, or some of its components. Finally, this patch has already been presented.

A total of 55 vulnerabilities will finally be covered and fixed with this new security patch. Certainly important news for the American company. One of the biggest problems was that some of those vulnerabilities, specifically three of them, were being exploited by Russian cyber attack teams. The security patch seeks to solve problems in Microsoft Edge, Windows, Office and Internet Explorer.

Russian spies attack Windows

Apparently some Russian spies have been attacking Microsoft Office, since the company gives priority to the installation of this security patch. It was in March when it was discovered that a group of Russian attackers called Turla, had been exploiting this vulnerability. It is an expert group, which is behind large online attacks.

In April, another attack on Office security was discovered. Again perpetrated by attackers of Russian origin. The same group related to hacking into American Democrats during past elections. Microsoft wants users to prioritize installing the security patch. There are various vulnerabilities that can expose users to risks, including malware.

It is also important to check that you have the latest version of Windows Security. The company is genuinely concerned about the latest attacks. Nor is it ruled out that new attacks occur soon.
