Xbox One and Windows 10 users can go to the Microsoft Store once they have found the item they want to send as a gift, just select the Buy as gift option. The only requirement is a valid email address where the recipient will receive the gift. For Xbox One, users must choose the player tag from their Xbox Live friends list, and the code is sent via a system message that comes with a redeemable button.

This program has some limitations, for example, only two discounted products can be given away at the same time, it also has a total limit of 10 discounted products every 14 days. Items in the regular full price have no time limits, so you can give away as many as you want. Items excluded from the gift program include pre-orders, free products, and consumable DLC game content such as virtual currencies.

Finally, there is a regional block that limits gifts that can be sent to the recipient to those purchased in their own region, which means you cannot send a gift to a friend on the other side of the world.
