Mistel vision mx, new passive power supplies with rgb
Table of contents:
Mistel is a somewhat unknown keyboard manufacturer, with models that stand out for physically separating into two pieces. Interestingly, the brand is also entering the Hardware market with a new range of power supplies. Let's see it.
Mistel Vision MX, new sources without fan and with RGB lighting
The new Vision MX stand out for their totally passive design, which does not use any fan. In addition, it includes RGB lighting, the latest in useless functionalities but that will probably attract certain users (which we understand). Apart from this, it has an 80 Plus Platinum certification.
The versions available will be 550W and 650W, although an 80 Plus Gold certificate was obtained for the smaller model, so let's hope it is not advertised incorrectly. The brand has not announced much more, about the protections included, number of 12V rails, warranty period, etc…
What the brand has shown is a photograph of its interior, which shows quite generous heatsinks to keep the source properly refrigerated.
We have not guessed who is the manufacturer of this power supply. There are several similarities with the Seasonic passive platform, which is also made in Taiwan. However, we do not believe that this was the manufacturer unless they have made major modifications just for Mistel, something quite unlikely which suggests that the manufacturer is someone else.
Another curious detail is that this font will be released with the same model name as the Bitfenix Vision, a font shown at Computex, just like this one. In fact, even their logo is similar. Will there be legal problems…? It is certainly a strange coincidence.
The brand has not announced price or availability, we do not know if it will reach Europe. Yes they have announced the next arrival of versions of 1000 and 1250W, although these will have a fan.
