Almost a year ago, Xiaomi officially landed in Spain. Since then, the Chinese brand has opened stores and also sells through various online channels. But, until now, they had not reached any agreement with operators, which closed the door to another part of the public, but finally the expected agreement has arrived. Since Movistar will sell the phones of the Chinese brand.

Movistar starts selling Xiaomi smartphones

At the moment a single phone is being put up for sale, the Redmi 6, although Movistar itself has announced that more phones will be added to the list in the coming months.

Agreement between Xiaomi and Movistar

It is an agreement of great importance for Xiaomi, since until now they had had no luck in their attempts to enter the market with any operator. So now they have a new distribution channel for their phones, which continue to gain presence in Spain. Furthermore, the phone offering promises to be extensive in a few months.

Vodafone launched a Xiaomi phone in May, but it seems that this collaboration was somewhat punctual, since there have been no new phones with the operator. Neither of the two companies has said more about it. So Movistar is the first with which they obtain a distribution agreement as such for their phones.

The growth of the Chinese brand in Spain has been remarkable, according to recent data, they are already the third best-selling in the national market, in just one year in it. So they still have the potential to grow much more in the coming months.
