Msi gus: external graphics card via thunderbolt 3
Table of contents:
MSI GUS is an external dock where we can connect a graphics card of any brand (AMD - Nvidia) to be used by a laptop that has the Thunderbolt 3 port.
Power your laptop with MSI GUS
This MSI dock station has its own source of 500W of power with an 80 Plus Gold certificate, you can connect practically any graphics card on the market through a PCI-Express 3.0 x16 port, which in turn connects to a laptop using Thunderbolt 3.
The new Thunderbolt 3 port allows data transfer speeds of 40Gbps, enough speed so that the external graphics card connected to the MSI GUS does not have 'bottleneck' problems and can perform at 100%.
Additionally MSI also adds a USB 3.0 Type-A port on the front and two of these ports on the back, which will allow us to connect any storage unit without major inconveniences.
This MSI device was presented at CES 2017 and it did it together with a Nvidia GTX 1080 inside, the most powerful graphics card on the market right now. MSI has not wanted to offer much more information about the chassis, which will come in red and black colors, the most representative of this company.
The launch of MSI GUS and its price are unknown, but it is speculated that it could land during Spring at a price of 500 dollars (without a graphics card of course).
