MSI GE75 Raider 8RF comes in a generic black box, inside it hides the laptop, very well protected and accompanied by the power supply. This model is in the GE series, which is characterized by offering incredible performance, with a very careful aesthetic and a compact and lightweight design. Next to the laptop we find the 230W power supply.

The MSI GE75 Raider 8RF notebook follows the manufacturer's traditional design pattern, which is good news without a doubt given the exquisite finish that all its models present. We are talking about a laptop made mostly of high-quality aluminum, although the bottom is still plastic, as is usual at MSI. The equipment has averages of 397 x 268.5 x 27.5 mm, and a weight of 2.61 Kg, which means that it is very portable. At the top we see the MSI logo, which is part of the lighting system, and the two red trims on the sides of the logo.

The design of the chassis is one of the factors that players take into account when buying. It is an RGB keyboard, managed by the SteelSeries Engine application, one of the best and most solid that we can find.

On the right side we see three buttons, one to turn on the equipment, another to change the keyboard lighting without resorting to software and another to set the fans to 100%.

The touchpad is the usual size, with two buttons that feel pretty good.

The most powerful model, which is the one at hand, has the Core i7-8750H, a processor with a 6-core and 12-wire configuration at a speed of 2.2 GHz, which is capable of reaching 4.1 GHz in turbo mode to make your games go smoother than ever. The processor is accompanied by 16 GB of dual-channel DDR4 26666 RAM, being compatible with a maximum of 32 GB of 2666 MHz DDR4 RAM. Regarding storage, it comes standard with a 256GB NVMe drive and a 1TB hard drive, so you won't run out of free space.

As for the graphics card, this GE75 Raider 8RF comes with nothing less than an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 with 8GB of GDDR5 memory. It is a very powerful graphics card, which will not have problems to move all current games at an average above 60 FPS, we can even lower the graphics settings a little to get the most out of the 144 Hz on your screen. The entire set of this equipment is powered by a built- in 6-cell battery, with a capacity of 51 Wh.

It is a very powerful hardware, which has been possible thanks to the MSI Cooler Boost 5 cooling system, it is based on seven copper heatpipes, four air vents and two fans for a total of 31 blades. This system moves 20% more air than the competition, allowing it to offer great cooling capacity. To manage all this hardware in the best possible way, we are offered the advanced Dragon Center 2.0 software

Its two 3W speakers (including two subwoofers) offer a very good quality sound, which is what the manufacturer's gaming notebooks have accustomed us to. MSI has again opted for Dynaudio's advanced Giant Speakers, which have a larger resonance chamber than rivals, offering a much richer and cleaner sound. The sound is enhanced by the Nahimic 3 application, which has a military origin and offers us a very faithful virtual 7.1 sound, thanks to which the enemies will have nowhere to hide on the battlefield. It also offers us a very crystalline sound for the microphone, so that we can communicate with our comrades in a very simple way. MSI has also included a HiFi ESS Saber DAC that offers 24-bit and 128KHz sound, a quality superior to that of CDs.

Performance and storage tests

First of all we are going to see the speed of the NVMe disk of this MSI GE75 Raider 8RF, for this we have used the popular program CristalDiskMark in its latest version, this has been the result obtained. As we can see it is a fairly fast disk , especially in reading.

As for the processor, we have used Cinebench R15, which has given a really impressive score for a laptop with 1116 points.

We now turn to see the behavior of the MSI GE75 Raider 8RF team in the most demanding games, all of them have been executed with the graphics at maximum and in 1080p, 2K and 4K resolutions, the tests have been done with the FRAPS benchmarking tool during 180 seconds, it has been repeated three times and an average has been made.
