We all agree that the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti is the fastest graphics card in the world for less than a thousand euros. And although it offers spectacular performance, the truth is that the GTX 1080 Ti leaves a lot of room for improvements, which is why MSI and Corsair created some modified models with liquid cooling.

The new cards, named GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Sea Hawk and Sea Hawk X, come with a block of liquid nitrogen on the GPU and with active cooling (fan) on the VRM unit (voltage regulator module).

The Sea Hawk will cool the GPU with an all-in-one cooler (AIO) based on the Corsair Hydro 55 thermal cooler, while the memory and VRM area will be cooled by a low-rpm fan.

MSI will launch both the GTX 1080 Ti Sea Hawk model and the X model thanks to a collaboration agreement with the well-known manufacturer of liquid refrigerations Corsair. Thanks to this type of cooling, players will not have to worry as much after enjoying extensive gaming sessions, in addition to both models arriving with higher clock frequencies directly from the factory.

The specifications of the Sea Hawk and Sea Hawk X are as follows:

MSI GTX GeForce 1080 Ti Sea Hawk:

  • Base frequency: 1493 MHz Turbo frequency: 1607 MHz Memory speed: 11 Gbps

MSI GTX GeForce 1080 Ti X Sea Hawk (modified factory version):

  • Base frequency: 1544 MHz Turbo frequency: 1657 MHz Memory speed: 11.1 Gbps

Finally, note that the two cards have a dedicated Gaming application that will allow you to adjust the clock frequencies in more detail. On the other hand, both models will have three DisplayPort connectors, an HDMI port and a DL-DVI-D connector. As for power, both the Sea Hawk and Sea Hawk X come with 6-pin and 8-pin PCIe connectors.
