With the coronavirus outbreak, many of us are stuck at work at home, while manufacturing and industries have come to a standstill. In light of this, MSI announced Wednesday that it would be appropriate to extend its customers' warranties that expire this month.

MSI offers 2 months extra warranty in response to Coronavirus

“MSI remains committed to its mission of putting our customers first. In light of the health concerns surrounding coronavirus worldwide, we want to make sure that our valued customers do not have to worry about anything other than their health and safety , ”the company said.

However, the manufacturer is putting strict conditions on the promotion program. For starters, the warranty has to expire in March, and you have to be enrolled in the MSI Rewards Program. The covered product categories are desktop computers, motherboards, AIO computers, PC cases, and monitors. Interestingly, laptops and graphics cards are not included in the program despite being a huge market for the company.

Finally, to qualify, you must live in one of the areas most affected by the COVID-19 outbreak, which includes the US, Australia, Bahrain, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Norway, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

You will notice that China is not on the list. That's because MSI has a different independent warranty extension program there.

It appears to be an exemplary move by MSI, helping to avoid having to deal with last-minute warranty issues in these weeks where the coronavirus seems to be spiraling out of control. We are curious to know if other manufacturers will come out with similar programs. We will keep you informed.
