We recently saw how the PCB of the RTX 2080 Ti Lightning Z leaked, revealing the insides of the new graphics cards from MSI, now the company itself shares a new image that plays a mystery, suggesting the use of carbon fiber.

The MSI Japan social media team posted a picture of the upcoming card on Twitter. Not much to see as it is only a partial snapshot and was taken in deliberately poor lighting. What you can see, however, is the carbon fiber back plate with the word "Lightning" printed on it.

"What do you think this is? The most powerful graphics card will come with stronger and more durable carbon fiber. Stay tuned! Wait for the second report, ” says the translated Twitter post.

When the PCB images were revealed, it emerged that the graphics card would have a GPU clock over 2, 450MHz (overclocking).

The guts of the Lightning Z model

Assuming the photos are real, and so it seems, the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Lightning Z features a 19-phase VRM and draws power from three 8-pin PCIe power connectors. We've already seen custom cards that use three 8-pin connectors with the RTX 2080 Ti, like the KUDAN model from Colorful. You can also distinguish several fan and voltage connectors that emerge from a section that is covered by a heat plate.

We still don't know what the cooling system will be like. The assumption is that it used three fans, but we will have to wait and see. What, if taken for granted, is that it used carbon fiber material.
