MicroStar International (MSI), the industry's fourth-largest motherboard maker, announces the soon-to-be-debut of its new family of MSI G Series motherboards, which will be aimed at the most extreme gamers.

MSI is preparing to launch its next line of G-series motherboards, which will target the gaming segment and will rival the established ASUS “RoG” motherboards and others like ASRock's Fatal1ty series and Gigabyte's Sniper. For this, the Taiwanese company has partnered with Qualcomm Atheros and its subsidiary Bigfoot Networks to integrate a next-generation Network processor, as well as ports optimized for peripherals, among other features not yet disclosed.

MSI will incorporate in its next G-Series boards a high-performance network processor Killer E2200 that prioritizes packet traffic in online games, improving or decreasing latency when playing. It is not the first to integrate this type of controller in its cards, others like Gigabyte and Asus have already done it much earlier but incorporating the previous Killer E2100 processor, which does not provide compatibility with Windows 8 or Linux, unlike the Killer E2200 controller, which if it is compatible with these systems.

Another aspect that stands out of the next MSI G-Series boards will be special ports (Gaming Device Port), optimized for gaming peripherals, specifically due to the little information revealed, it can be seen that MSI will incorporate a special PS / 2 port of red color, plus 2 USB ports also red, these will be optimized connections with a very low response time. MSI claims that these ports can lower the mouse / keyboard response latency from 8ms to just 1ms, allowing you to improve the response times of your devices in online games.

Physically these connectors will have 8 times more gold plating than regular connectors, will have up to 10 times greater durability to connect / disconnect peripherals and will have greater resistance to corrosive factors such as rust.

MSI promises to offer more details about its future G Series motherboards during the CeBit 2013 event (March 5-9).
