MSi continues to expand its catalog of motherboards for the Intel Broadwell-E platform with the announcement of the new MSI X99A Tomahawk that will meet the needs of all users of the enthusiastic Intel platform.

MSI X99A Tomahawk: technical characteristics

The new MSI X99A Tomahawk motherboard mounts an LGA2011v3 socket alongside an X99 chipset to give compatibility to Broadwell-E processors and of course Haswell-E processors as well . The processor will be powered by a robust 8-phase VRM that takes power through the use of a 24-pin ATX connector and an 8-pin EPS connector to ensure proper electrical stability. The socket is surrounded by eight DDR4 DIMM slots to support a maximum of 128GB of DDR4 memory in a quad chanel configuration for excellent performance.

The specifications of the MSI X99A Tomahawk continue with the presence of three PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots to design teams with enormous graphics performance and two PCIe 3.0 x1 slots for various expansion cards. Its storage options include the presence of an M.2 32 GB / s slot, a U.2 32 GB / s slot, a SATA Express port and eight SATA III 6 GB / s ports, so we will not be short of options for a large storage capacity and the transfer speed of the most advanced SSDs. To finish we highlight the presence of two USB 3.1 ports, one of them Type-A and the other Type-C, eight USB 3.0 + eight USB 2.0 ports and finally a Gigabit Ethernet interface signed by Intel.
