The relaunch of the NES Classic Mini will happen on November 11 but we can already take a look inside the console to see what its electronic casings are. The surprise for many is that inside the NES Mini is nothing less than a Raspberry Pi device.

NES Classic Mini arrives on November 11

The PCB is naturally customized by Nintendo but it would be the technology similar to that used in a Raspberry Pi 2, with a soldered 512MB NAND Flash chip to load all the ROMS of the games inside. This would be the reason why the NES Classic Mini would not come with a memory reader to load games from external storage, in fact, no more games than the 30 included in the console can be loaded.

What can be seen on the motherboard of the console is an AllWinner R16 SoC processor, consisting of four Cortex-A7 cores, which is the same that we can find in the Rapsberry Pi 2 Model B. The integrated graphics is the Mali-400 MP2 and a 2GB DDR3L RAM.

This hardware will allow you to play NES titles in HD 720p resolution with a refresh rate of 60Hz using an HDMI connection.

All NES Classic Mini games will have 4 save points to start the games right from where you previously saved it. The NES Classic Mini will cost around 59.99 euros and comes out on Friday, November 11.
