Nest, better known for its series of thermostats and cameras for the smart home, has just presented its first security system, a pack consisting of three products that we can also complete with a new outdoor security camera and a latest generation video door entry unit.

Nest brings security to your home

Nest Secure is the name given to the first comprehensive home security system developed by this company that works under the Google umbrella. According to the company itself, it is a " relentless system with intruders and very practical for owners" consisting of three devices:

  • Nest Guard , the epicenter of the security system that includes keyboard, alarm, voice manager and motion sensor. Nest Detect , a sensor capable of detecting both movement and the opening of doors and / or windows, depending on where we place it. Nest Tag , a small accessory that will go unnoticed on your keychain and with which you can activate and deactivate the security system without using passwords.

The starter pack includes 1 Nest Guard, 2 Nest Detect and 2 Nest Tag. Its price is $ 499, it is already available for reservation and goes on sale in November in the United States. In Europe and Canada we will have to wait for 2018. And of course, we can add to this starter pack Nest Detects and additional Nest Tags at the price of $ 59 and $ 25 respectively.

Along with the Nest Secure system , the company has also introduced two new home security devices. On the one hand, the video door phone Nest Hello, which sends us an alert and the HD image of the person who is at our door, even when he hasn't called the bell. We can have a high-quality conversation with her from anywhere. Its price has not been revealed yet but it will be available in both the United States and Europe in the first quarter of 2018.

Finally, Nest Cam IQ for outdoors, an outdoor surveillance camera highly resistant to inclement weather, at the price of € 379 from November in all markets where Nest is present.
