Netflix 4k comes to windows 10

You have probably heard of Netflix, the popular streaming service that begins to offer 4K content. If you use it, surely you have read this tutorial in which we tell you how to configure Netflix with a VPN without being blocked. But if you enjoy this streaming service, you may be aware that Netflix 4K will be coming to Windows PCs this week. But you may not be able to enjoy it on your laptop, unless it is the latest generation.

Netflix 4K available for Windows 10

The latest TVs already begin to support 4K, although they are not especially cheap. But although many PCs support it, they are being left out of the Netflix 4K service because they do not have the latest Intel chip.

If you have Netflix, you will be able to enjoy 4K streaming through Microsoft Edge. But you are going to need a new PC really, to have the seventh generation (Kaby Lake) of Intel Core processors.

There really aren't that many laptops today that support the required 4K display and new Intel chips, so this news is not for all users actually.

From Microsoft, this Netflix 4K support is being used as a good marketing campaign to encourage users to get on the Windows 10 ship. However, the cost of the requirements to pay is quite high.

You need Kaby Lake, the latest chip from Intel

If you don't have a new PC, you won't be able to enjoy Netflix in 4K. This is so because the latest encoding features are not available to older Intel. In the case of the new Kaby Lake chips, they do support 10-bit HEVC, a 4K video codec.
