Netflix does not want to remove content from Marvel and Star Wars
Part of such content is from Marvel and Star Wars. Two successful franchises that belong to Disney and that undoubtedly report many users and benefits to Netflix. Now, with the break, said content will leave the streaming platform. Something Netflix seeks to avoid at all costs.
Netflix wants to keep Disney content
Disney is clear that it wants to create its own streaming service. A logical idea, seeing that it is a way of consuming content that still has a lot of potential to grow and that gains users every day. The agreement between both companies is valid until 2019. And that is what Netflix is trying to change. They seek to extend the agreement beyond that date.
Although Netflix does not depend exclusively on having Disney movies in its catalog, having this type of content gives prestige to the streaming service, and there are also users who make an account for the option of watching these movies. Although the majority of benefits for the company come from the production of own series.
So far, no company has offered statements regarding the possible renewal of the contract. Disney's plans to create its own streaming platform continue. We will see if this assumes that their series and movies are exclusive to said service or not. Will Netflix be able to renew the contract with Disney? We will find out in the coming weeks.
