The Nintendo Wii has been a very popular console, for many years. Its sales exceed 100 million over the years, making it the fourth best seller in history. Nintendo will stop repairing the Wii in March

After many years of support, the Japanese brand makes this decision. It was something that could be seen coming, but surely many will not be convinced.

End of support

Nintendo says it's difficult to secure the parts needed for repair as of March 31. Therefore, from the month of March the consoles will not be repaired. The firm cannot guarantee that there will be enough parts, so they stop accepting these repair requests. As it has also been known, this is something that refers to the RVL-001 model.

In this way, the Japanese firm will maintain other consoles with support. After 14 years in the market, it was time to stop this support, years after having finished the production of it.

Nintendo has several consoles on the market, like the Switch. Although so far none of them has managed to beat the Wii in sales. The best-selling of the Japanese brand is the DS, which exceeds 152 million units sold, followed by another legendary like the Game Boy.
