A few weeks ago, rumors came to light that the Nintendo NX will use Nvidia Tegra hardware inside, something quite logical if we consider that the new console from the mythical company will be a hybrid of desktop console and portable console. Nintendo NX would use an Nvidia Parker processor

New rumors put an Nvidia Parker SoC on the Nintendo NX

A new rumor puts Nvidia back at the heart of the Nintendo NX and in the best possible way since the new Japanese console would specifically use an Nvidia Parker SoC for great power and enviable energy efficiency. The Nvidia Parker chipset is manufactured in TSMC's 16nm FinFet process and offers great hardware led by a 256 CUDA Cores GPU based on the Pascal architecture and supported by a CPU consisting of two Denver 2 cores along with four Cortex -A57 with 4MB L2 cache for outstanding performance.

This hardware is approximately 40% more powerful than the Apple A9X chip so the Nintendo NX would have great power in a very energy efficient device. Of course all these are rumors and it cannot be ruled out that the console finally includes hardware from AMD and even both AMD and Nvidia to differentiate between its two modes of desktop and portable operation.

The Nintendo NX promises to be an innovative console and of course offering two modes of operation could be a great bet.
