Acer today announced two Nitro XF2 monitors, one with a 25-inch screen and the other with a 27-inch screen, which supposedly offer "incredibly smooth gameplay thanks to their incredibly high speed, " according to Acer. This is due to its less than 1 ms response screen.

Acer Nitro XF2 are 'gaming' monitors with 25 and 27-inch screens

The Nitro XF2's display, in its two variants, has refresh rates of up to 240 Hz and gray-to-gray response times of less than 1 ms. That combination of specs should, at least in theory, offer us smooth gameplay without tearing or stuttering, which is what all gamers are looking for.

The monitors are largely identical, the main differentiator being the screen size, along with slightly different response times in overdrive mode. Acer said the XF252Q offers up to 0.3ms of gray-to-gray response time on a 25-inch screen; the XF272 X is best with a 0.2ms peak response time from gray to gray.

Acer said both Nitro XF2 monitors have 1080p resolution. This is not so surprising, as monitors with high refresh rates and low response times often settle for Full HD. Compatibility with AMD FreeSync is also not particularly surprising, as it is virtually required on 240 Hz monitors.

The two new Acer monitors offer a brightness of 400 nit cd / m2, HDR 10 compatibility and a maximum contrast ratio of 100 million: 1.

Acer said the XF252Q is out now with a retail price of $ 350. Its older brother, the XF272 X, will debut "later this month" with a retail price of $ 450.
