This week Nixeus is making noise with a curved 34-inch gaming monitor. The Nixeus EDG 34 (NX-EDG34S).

Nixeus Introduces 34 ′ Curved @ 144 Hz Monitor

Like most 34-inch ultra-wide monitors, the EDG 34 has a resolution of 3440 x 1440 using a VA panel. The monitor has a 1500R curvature and operates at a native refresh rate of up to 144 Hz, with FreeSync available between 48-144 Hz. The display has a gray-to-gray response time of 4 ms. The response time is not the best that has been seen and HDR compatibility is not mentioned either.

The monitor has a peak brightness of up to 400 nits, along with a static contrast ratio of 3, 000: 1, which are quite respectable figures. No mention is made of any 100% standard color support like sRGB.

As for the style, Nixeus seems to have done a good job, adjusting the gaming monitor with slim bezels on three sides and an elegant support without going out of line with the avant-garde style of other gaming screens.

The EDG 34 has two DisplayPort 1.4 ports and two HDMI 2.0 ports. We must bear in mind that if we use the HDMI 2.0 ports we will not have access to FreeSync and the refresh rate will be limited to 100 Hz. Finally, there is a single 3.5mm audio output jack and VESA mounts for those who want to do without the included bracket and place it on a wall.

The Nixeus EDG 34 is available for pre-sale from Amazon for about $ 551.15 at the time of this writing or from Newegg for $ 499.99. Shipments will begin between November 29 and December 1.
