Nokia lumia 1020: a born photographer with 41 megapixels

Nokia has always put a lot of emphasis on the camera on their phones. The Nokia, leaving aside how resistant they are, has always boasted, not only megapixels, but quality in their photographic sensors. Perhaps now the Nokia Lumia 1020, recently introduced, does come to boast of the number of pixels it is capable of capturing: 41 megapixels, nothing more and nothing less. But that is not all.

High-end specifications

The specifications are still in line with its little brothers, the Lumia 920 or 928. Its 4.5-inch Amoled screen has a very good resolution, about 1280 x 768 pixels with PureMotion HD + technology. The glass is a Gorilla Glass 3, which guarantees a good resistance to scratches. Its processor has nothing to do with what Samsung suggests with its high-end phones, but it can still defend itself quite well and be fluid. Specifically, we are talking about a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core at about 1.5 GHz with a 2GB RAM.

The storage is 32 GB and as has been usual in models with Windows Phone, it cannot be expanded using SD cards. In the other specifications we find Bluetooth 3.0, NFC, LTE connectivity and a battery that reaches 2, 000 mAh with a autonomy of 14 hours. After reviewing the basic and common specifications, I think it is mandatory to talk about the 41 megapixels of your camera.

Photographer soul

The cameras of the latest Nokia models are wonderful. And is that really, when we talk about cameras, we should not only look at megapixels. It's a very common mistake. In reality the megapixels all they indicate is the maximum size that our photos will reach. What really matters is the quality of the lens and how optimized it is.

And in this particular, the Nokia 1020 stands out with its xenon flash and a second LED. Not only that, but the software that comes by default for this camera, the Nokia Pro Camera, will help us to adjust our photos, and so we will not depend on the camera application that comes by default or find another in the store. The case that comes with the phone gives it a perfect ergonomic shape for intensive use.

Windows Phone, the axis of evil

Windows Phone is perhaps the big problem with this phone. It is a platform that still leaves a lot to be desired. Largely for its painful application store where there are really missing great stars that are present on Android and iOS. So perhaps Nokia wants us to look more at its camera and its specifications and forget that we actually bought a rather incomplete OS phone. A simple example is Instagram, which daily processes a large number of photographs. An app that without a doubt with this camera would be very used but has no plans to reach Windows Phone.

The price of the Lumia in Spain is not yet clear, it is rumored that it will be € 300, but what we do know is that it will arrive with Movistar exclusively this coming July 26 and that it will not be the cheapest of the phones that we can find today in our country.
