Another of the new additions of the Nox brand to the highly competitive chassis market is the Nox Infinity Neon. A chassis that is positioned one or two steps ahead of the Nox Infinity ATOM. A more elaborate design, more possibilities for customization due to the increase in size compared to its little sister and a simply magnificent lighting section make this chassis one to take into account in the middle segment. Let's see what this Nox Infinity Neon offers us, we hope that this detailed analysis will offer you valuable answers for your purchase.
First of all, thank Nox for the trust placed in giving us this chassis for analysis.
Nox Infinity Neon technical characteristics
Unboxing and design
The presentation, as it has been in the standard of the brand, and practically in almost all the chassis of today, includes Nox Infinity Neon in a neutral cardboard box. On both sides of it we are presented with a diagram of the chassis along with its most significant characteristics and its brand and model. All the screen printing is printed in black, after all, it is a wrapper so why invest more in something disposable.
We open the box and we find the chassis perfectly protected by two white corks, one on each side to place it in a central position in the box and avoid knocks. In turn, it comes wrapped in a translucent plastic bag. Of course, Nox Infinity Neon have tempered glass on its side, so we miss a white cork for extra protection.
The box in question only brings us the chassis inside, as it seems to be already standard in the brand, we do not have a paper instruction manual. The screw bag is perfectly sealed inside the chassis.
Nox Infinity Neon is a chassis with an ATX form factor and loose dimensions to house a wide variety of components, both low, medium and high range. We do not believe that working inside is a problem, no matter what we do.
This chassis is made of 0.6mm thick SPCC steel, painted entirely in black and features a panoramic tempered glass window on its side. The measures of this chassis are 465 mm deep, 218 mm wide and 472 mm high. Some measures more than enough to install the vast majority of top range components available on the market. On the scale it signs a not insignificant weight of 6.2 Kg, somewhat high, because we are talking about a chassis with generous stockings and high-quality tempered glass.
The front of Nox Infinity Neon stands out for its angular lines, giving depth to its external image. The main color is black along with a central division where the RGB LED installation is located, which is synchronized with the 120mm internal fan by means of the corresponding microcontroller.
In this area we also find a discreet brand logo and the equipment on / off button.
The I / O panel of this chassis is located at the top front. It consists of a reset button, two USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, the classic 3.5mm Jack audio and micro outputs and a function button to control all the RGB Led lighting of this Nox Infinity Neon. This last button is going to give a lot of play, since we will have a huge number of lighting modes available, they should almost implement software to choose one.
At the top, and just behind the I / O panel, we did not find a huge ventilation space that allows us to place two 120 or 140 mm fans. In addition, it is protected by a removable magnetic dust filter from the outside for cleaning and maintenance
On its left side we find a large tempered glass prison that reveals the entire interior of the chassis. In all its periphery we find an opaque black border that covers the metal sides of the chassis where it is attached. For the installation and removal of the window we have four manually threaded fixing screws and four rubbers that allow to eliminate vibrations and protect and isolate the glass from the chassis. A perfect and elegant finish.
The right side, as usual, has a configuration of matte black steel sheet that ensures the concealment of all the wiring that will go behind it. For the cable management hole we have 2.4 cm width, enough space for thick and abundant cables.
We head to the back of this Nox Infinity Neon. Here we find the installation hole for the power supply located at the bottom, and contained in a metallic fairing independent of the rest of the chassis to prevent heat transfer to the components.
Just above we find a space for seven expansion slots, all of them protected and closed by removable perforated sheets to facilitate air flow. The slot panel has an outer plate to fix the components installed in them, to move this, we will only have to loosen a screw manually and we can insert the hardware into the hole.
If we direct the view towards the top, we do not find the standard hole to locate the base plate and to the right a ventilation hole for the extraction of air that allows the installation of 140 and 120 mm fans. We found a pre-installed 120mm with RGB LED lighting and synchronization to the front lighting.
To conclude with the outer part of Nox Infinity Neon, we are located in its part with the ground. In this part we have 4 large rubber-protected legs that ensure excellent support and good elevation from the ground. Just below the mounting of the power supply we have a large ventilation hole protected by a non-magnetic metal grill.
Interior and assembly
To access the interior of this chassis we will only have to easily remove the screws manually that hold the glass and the back plate. We have a very large space with good possibilities for cooling. We have a large hole in the installation section of the motherboard that will allow us to install and uninstall the CPU regeneration block without problems without removing the board from its place. In addition, we have numerous, but not excessive, holes for cable management, we highlight that they are quite discreet, although they do not have rubber protection in them.
Nox Infinity Neon is compatible with Mini ITX, Micro ATX and ATX boards, so we will have all the installation possibilities available. In addition, we can install CPU heatsinks up to 179 mm and 370 mm graphics cards, so we will have space without a problem for the vast majority of components.
At the front of the compartment we have a large space for ventilation installation and two 2.5 ”hard drives attached to the side. Perhaps we are missing some dust filters in case we want to install fans in suction mode on this front.
Let's see what possibilities this chassis has in terms of ventilation configurations:
- Front: 120mm x3 / 140mm x2 Top: 120 / 140mm x2 Rear: 120 / 140mm x1
So we can have 6 fans of 120 mm or 5 of 140 mm. Although it is true that the front area does not have a large air suction area, so the flow could be reduced in this regard. For its part, the microcontroller in charge of synchronizing the devices with lighting has 8 inputs for fans and a few more for RGB strips, as standard, we only have a 120mm RGB LED fan.
As for liquid cooling we also have good possibilities in this Nox Infinity Neon:
- Front: 240 / 280mm Top: 240 / 280mm Rear: 120 / 140mm
We can say nothing wrong in this regard.
Regarding storage devices, we can install two 2.5 ”units in the main compartment, and another two 3.5” units in another compartment located at the bottom, just behind the independent power supply.
For the management of the cabling we have all the space behind the main compartment and with a width up to the sheet of 28 mm, so we can say that it is relatively wide to house a considerable number of cables. If we add to this the free space of the fairing of the power supply we will have no problems in this regard
To finish we leave you a series of images of the mounted configuration. The assembly has been quite fast and without problems. In this chassis the only complication you will have is choosing the lighting mode that you like the most since you can get bored with so many of them.
Final words and conclusion about Nox Infinity Neon
Nox has done a magnificent job with this chassis that comes to compete in the entry and media range, although with some details that make it very interesting compared to its rivals. Among its positive qualities we highlight a tempered glass with a good design and finish, a simple and elegant design with colorful LED lighting and, above all, a large internal space for high-end components and good wiring management.
The assembly made has excellent performance. Our high-performance team has perfectly complied and we have been able to mount it without any problem. This PC case looks great, especially for users looking for tight budgets.
We recommend reading the best PC chassis of the moment
Among the upgradeable aspects of Nox Infinity Neon there is not much to say. We still lack a more standard fan and more front space for the outside air intake. Although they are good benefits in general if we are talking about a price of 54.99 euros, a fairly inexpensive chassis.
