NTT DATA, one of the leaders in Japanese origin global technology services, is implementing the use of EPYC processors on its servers, one more that joins the AMD platform.

"Thanks to AMD EPYC processors, we are able to connect more than 120 credit companies and 1, 600 banking centers through our CAFIS system with excellent performance and security, " said Minoru Yoshizawa, deputy director of the Financial Nucleus at NTT DATA.

This is a breakthrough for AMD in the server and data center sector, which is being largely dominated by Intel. Based on these movements, Intel is expected to lower its market share in servers below 90%, largely due to the implementation of those EPYC processors.

NTT DATA will harness the processing power of those AMD EPYC 7551P and EPYC 7351P CPUs on a Tyan server platform.

NTT DATA has more than 30 years of experience offering one of the largest payment infrastructures in Japan, which will now be largely powered by AMD.
