After rumored that Apple is working on a new 10.5-inch iPad, new information comes to light that suggests that the new tablet will finally be 10.9 inches and will be the first model of those in Cupertino without a physical button.

Apple works on a 10.9-inch iPad

The new iPad with a 10.9-inch screen would be able to integrate its large panel into a device with the same dimensions as the normal 9.7-inch iPad, for this Apple would have decided to do without the physical button in order to reduce the frames and be able to offer a device much more compact. This physical button would be replaced by one integrated into the screen itself along with a fingerprint reader, a solution that had to come sooner or later and seems to be finally very close to being reality.

The new 10.9-inch device will be slightly thicker than the current one, there is talk of a thickness of 7.5mm and the justification could be that a greater thickness is needed to integrate the same battery capacity with reduced side frames. This new iPad would hit the market alongside the new iPhone 7S in the first half of 2017. With all these modifications it will be the first iOS device without a physical button that we see.
