Acer Nitro 5 is mainly known for being a gaming laptop with very good features, and a fairly contained price for what it offers, the brand wants to reinforce its reputation with the new 2018 update.

Acer Nitro 5 is renewed with Coffee Lake

The new Acer Nitro 5 will offer the new eighth-generation Intel Core processors, based on the Coffee Lake architecture, including the six-core Core i7-8750H, which should dramatically improve processing power. The new Nitro 5 will ensure that these significantly faster new processors have the fastest access to game data thanks to Intel Optane memory, which reduces load times and accelerates responsiveness.

Beyond the processor, the new Acer Nitro 5 can be configured with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti GPU , significantly faster than the GTX 1050 that maxed out the previous version. That should make the laptop much faster, by running the most demanding games at 1080p with high graphics settings. Buyers will be able to install up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM, doubling the previous maximum of 16GB, and configure a PCIe solid-state drive of up to 512GB, to improve overall system speed along with the aforementioned Intel Optane memory.

All this in the service of a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS screen, and Acer's TrueHarmony audio technology with support for Dolby Audio Premium. Acer plans to launch the new Nitro 5 in May. Pricing will start at $ 749, if Acer maintains the same basic pricing scheme of current models, the more powerful versions would cost around $ 1, 100 with more RAM, Intel Optane and a faster GPU.
