Nvidia confirms that pascal will reach 16nm finfet +

Nvidia has taken advantage of the GTC in Japan to confirm that its next GPU architecture, Pascal will arrive manufactured by TSMC under the 16nm FinFET + process as it has been rumored for several months.

Pascal will give life to the new GeForce 100 series that are expected at the end of next year 2016. Pascal will arrive with the new HBM2 aplidada memory being possible to mount a maximum of 32 GB spread over four stacks, the maximum bandwidth will be 1TB / s thanks to its 4, 096-bit interface. In cards destined for a domestic environment we will have to settle for "only" 16 GB of memory ".

Using the 16nm FinFET + manufacturing process will allow Nvidia to offer cards with much higher gross performance and energy efficiency than current Maxwell-based GPUs built at 28nm.
