It is now official , Nvidia has presented the Nvidia Geforce RTX 2060, a Turing architecture graphics card that is located in the mid-range of the brand's new RTX. This 2060 has excellent ray tracing capabilities , like its older sisters, a total of 1920 CUDA cores, 240 Tensor cores and 30 RT cores operating at a base frequency of 1365 MHz and 1680 in TurboBoost 3.0 mode. All this assures us a computing power of 52 TeraFLOPS for Deep Learning.

With a total memory of 6 GB GDDR6 of 14 Gbps and a bandwidth of 192 bits, we will have transfer rates of 336 GB / s. Without a doubt, excellent performance compared to the previous generation. A worthy successor to the previous GTX 1060.

As an interesting fact on the part of the brand, this card assures us a performance in Battlefield V with ray tracing of 60 FPS, so we should expect that it is up to the mark in games with similar characteristics and graphic requirements.

The benefits of Turing architecture reach RTX 2060

The Turing architecture carries with it important modifications compared to the Pascal in terms of energy management and processing capacity. It supports the concurrent execution of floating point operations and up to twice the cache memory compared to the predecessor to support the new adaptive shading technology that will provide us with better quality in the shadows of our games and ray tracing.

It also implements DLSS or Deep Learning Super Sampling technology that consists of simulating a deep neural network that improves the real-time rendering of scenes in which pixels are dynamically mixed to provide us with ray tracing at the height of the best brand graphics.

Leaving behind the turbine heatsinks

Of course, one of the subjects that remained pending from the previous generation of Founders Edition was the unsuccessful choice of a heatsink with a turbine fan. That is why the brand has wanted to compensate in all RTX products by implementing a heatsink built in aluminum with copper heat pipes and two horizontal fans. The result is much more effective and also more beautiful to look at.

The measurements of this RTX 2060 are 281 x 125 x 42 mm, so we are dealing with a card of considerable dimensions and that occupies only two expansion slots. Its TDP is 160 W, which is 40 W more than the GTX 1060.

In addition to the updated Geforce Experience software for this new graphics card, the brand also wants to put interesting packs for sale for the first buyers of its chip. We will have, for a limited time, both users who buy a graphics card or a computer that has it installed, will be able to purchase a copy of Anthem or Battlefield V for free. Of course Spain is included in this promotion.

As we said at the beginning, the new card will be available in the market by the vast majority of manufacturers such as: Asus, Colorful, EVGA, Gainward, Galaxy, Gigabyte, Innovision 3D, Palit, PNY and Zotac, from January 15.

The brand's own version, the Nvidia RTX 2060 Founders Edition is available for a price of 369 euros, this is no less than 80 euros plus GTX 1060 in its same version, which makes the product drastically more expensive. For a mid-range, this is not acceptable in our opinion, however expensive GDDR6 memories come out. We will be left to see the price of custom models.
