Nvidia Introduces Geforce Now 'Recommended Routers' Certification

Nvidia is launching a program for its GeForce Now video game streaming solution called Recommended Routers. This program selects the third-party routers that work best with Nvidia's streaming platform and adds a certificate to them.

The Nvidia video game streaming service aims to transform the way we can enjoy high-performance gaming: with Recommended Routers, network congestion would be a thing of the past, helping to keep fluent games flowing.

The latest generation of routers allows you to configure settings to prioritize GeForce Now over all other data. The recommended routers are factory certified with a GeForce Now Quality of Service Profile (QoS). This profile has the ability to be automatically activated when playing video games via streaming with GeForce Now.

Nvidia is currently working with ASUS, D-LINK, Netgear, Razer, TP-Link, Ubiquiti Networks, and other router manufacturers to build the recommended routers for GeForce Now.

Nvidia's recommended routers are now available in the United States and Canada, starting with the Amplifi HD Gamer edition of Ubiquiti Networks. You may also be able to obtain this 'certificate' using firmware updates for many routers already available, but this is sure to roll out early next year.

GeForce Now, at the moment, is free to use the Beta version, but when the final version comes out it will cost about $ 25 for 20 hours of play. That's what Nvidia said when this service was introduced last year.
