Last month NVIDIA launched the presale for its Quadro RTX 5000 graphics cards. Now they announce a new variant for mid-range workstations called Quadro RTX 4000, which uses the same Turing Tu104 silicon. With some 'little things' disabled, of course.

According to NVIDIA, the Turing architecture is the most important innovation in computer graphics in more than a decade. They've even improved the RTX development platform with new AI, Ray Tracing, and simulation SDKs. They all take advantage of the capabilities of the Turing GPU.

Quadro RTX 4000 graphics card specifications

The professional graphics card in a single slot format has 2304 CUDA cores, 288 Tensor cores and 36 RT cores. The amount of memory is 8GB of the GDDR6 type and has a TDP of 160W. In terms of performance, users can expect 7.1 TFLOPS on FP32 and up to 6 Giga Rays / Sec.

Compared to the model, and big brother, RTX 5000, this one has 3, 702 CUDA cores, 384 Tensor cores and 48 RT cores. It also has more memory with 16GB of the GDDR6 type. If we pay attention to these numbers, the difference in performance between the two models should be significant.

In terms of connectivity, it has three DisplayPort 1.4 ports on the back and a VirtualLink connector.

How much does the Quadro RTX 4000 cost?

Pricing for this professional workstation graphics card should be around $ 900. It will be available directly from the NVIDIA store starting in December or through its partners that offer professional graphics solutions.
