GE Healthcare and NVIDIA today announced that they will deepen their collaboration for 10 years to bring the most sophisticated artificial intelligence (AI) to more than 500, 000 GE Healthcare imaging devices worldwide and accelerate the speed of healthcare data processing.

The agreement between Nvidia and GE will last 10 years

The partnership's scope, detailed today at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) 103rd Annual Meeting, includes advancements in the Vivid E95 4D Ultrasound and the development of GE Healthcare's Applied Intelligence analytical platform.

The most interesting thing about the collaboration is the new CT system, which is twice as fast in image processing, thanks to NVIDIA's AI calculation. This is expected to provide better clinical results in detecting liver and kidney injury due to its speed, potentially reducing the need for unnecessary follow-up.

"According to Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA, " Our partnership with GE Healthcare brings together vast experience in medical and artificial intelligence instruments to create a new generation of intelligent instruments that can dramatically improve patient care.

NVIDIA is being a pioneer in the implementation of artificial intelligence in different fields, not only in medicine, but also in the automotive, robotics and video analysis sectors. GPU-accelerated deep learning solutions can be used to design more sophisticated neural networks for medical and healthcare applications. It is possible that, in a few years, thanks to artificial intelligence, the health status of a patient can be established in real time, that is the objective.
