Open Hardware Monitor is an ideal program to monitor temperatures, so you already have another application for this purpose. Open Hardware Monitor, portable and functional

As we have mentioned before, this program monitors the temperatures of each component of our computer, that is, processor, RAM, graphics card and hard drives. I do not include the motherboard because in my case I have not managed to see the temperatures of the VRM, which seems serious to me. Check that this works for you.

I would say that its two main characteristics are that it is portable or light and functional because it does its job. I have to say that this program is free, simple and illustrative, so we don't have to worry about anything else. We download it from its website and install it. Warn you that this is a beta version, it is not the definitive one.

We will download a.zip file and in it we will find the program as is, without installers. So, we just have to extract its folder where we want and execute the.exe file. Once executed, we will see an interface surprisingly similar to that of HWMonitor.

Interface

I have to admit that you have few options, but quite useful. Is less more? I think in this case, yes. In my case, it did not show me certain data of my components : so that it shows you everything run as administrator. We have a column that measures the updated value in real time and another that sets the maximum value.

Starting with the " File " tab, we can select what hardware we want to see, reset the values or save the reports. It is a section that does not have much more.

Surely, you don't have the “Min” column, which shows the lowest value reached. In the " View " tab we can activate and deactivate the columns we want to see, such as showing "hidden" sensors, a real-time graph or having a Windows Vista-style gadget.

As for the " Options " tab, we have many more options, such as starting minimized, starting automatically with Windows, choosing between Fahrenheit or Celisus, choosing the update interval, etc.

Open Hardware Monitor not only measures temperatures, it tells us what percentage of load the component has, the frequency at which it works or the memory occupied, free and total. In the case of the processor, it shows the percentage of load for each thread.

To finish, I have compared all the temperatures with HWMonitor and I have to say that they agree perfectly, so you can trust the values that I show you.

Conclusions

Generally speaking, it is a good program, but we are going to give you the benefit of the doubt because it is in beta. However, it teaches us absolutely everything we need to know about our PC. Remember to run as administrator to be able to enjoy all its functions.

Otherwise, it seems perfect for those light teams that do not have a lot of space, nor powerful specifications. This tool is portable, which means you don't have to install it anywhere; run and enjoy.
