Unboxing and design

Ozone has opted for its typical presentation for its new star mouse, we are talking about a hard cardboard box with a very good quality print and based on the black and red colors, the Ozone corporate ones. The box informs us of the main characteristics of the mouse, among which we find its high precision PixArt sensor and 16, 000 DPI, an attractive RGB LED lighting system, its modular buttons programmable by software and a very comfortable design in the hand. Once we open the box we find the mouse next to the documentation and a box with the modular buttons and the tool to extract them from the mouse.

The Ozone Exon X90 is manufactured with a high quality black plastic body in which the lighting will take care of breaking a possible excess of monochrome. Its dimensions are 125 x 69 x 41 mm with a weight of 100 grams without the cable. It is a fairly light mouse , although it is not the lightest on the market, nor is it the most compact. Its asymmetrical design has been thought to fit perfectly to the right hand, something that on the other hand will be a problem for left-handed users. The overall quality of the mouse looks very good, with a body that is built with a high-quality polymer.

At the top we see the wheel next to the two main buttons, it is striking that no additional buttons have been placed in this area, something that is very rare to see today. Under the main buttons are the OMROM switches, of the best quality and that guarantee that the mouse will last you many years even if you spend the day playing PUBG or Fortnite. As for the wheel, it is rubberized to offer a better grip on the finger and that it does not slip.

On the left side we find five G1-G5 buttons and an additional Fn button. The former are modular, and can be exchanged for attachments in the bundle, to better adjust the mouse to the needs of all users. With this we can make this side offer us a number of buttons between zero and five, leaving aside the Fn button, in addition to being able to have various layout, spacing and size. To remove the buttons, all we have to do is use the Ozone tool.

The right side is free of buttons. Both sides have a rubber piece to improve the grip on the hand and prevent the mouse from slipping in sudden movements.

At the bottom of the Ozone Exon X90 lies the advanced PixArt 3360 sensor with a maximum resolution of 16, 000 DPI and 400 IPS. This sensor can be adjusted in five profiles from 100 DPI to 16, 000 DPI, with this we will have no problems leaving it to our liking. The mouse includes two small buttons at the bottom, one to change the DPI without the need to use the software or use the programmable buttons, and the other to switch between usage profiles. Teflon surfers are also located in this lower part , which aim to offer a very smooth glide on the table or the mat.

Ozone software

The Ozone Exon X90 mouse can be used without installing the software, although we strongly recommend its installation in order to take full advantage of it. The software can be downloaded from the official website of the manufacturer and its installation is extremely simple.

Once we open the application, we see a great interface in which we have all the accessible menus in a very simple way. This program offers us the possibility of creating up to 5 profiles that are stored in the internal 128 Kb memory of the mouse, this way it will always be ready to use on another PC without having to install anything. This is when we see the sense of the button at the bottom to switch between profiles. We can also make the profiles load automatically when we open a game or a work program.

The software allows us to assign the functions that we want to its multiple programmable buttons. We find functions as varied and advanced as the typical ones of a mouse, keyboard events, functions related to the reproduction of multimedia files, adjustments of the DPI values, profile change and a powerful macro manager so that we can make the most of it.

As for the settings of the mouse sensor, it offers us the possibility of configuring the sensitivity from 100 to 16, 000 DPI and always in ranges of 50. We also find the polling rate setting at 125/250/750/1000 Hz, improve pointer precision, double click speed and wheel scroll speed.

Finally, we see the configuration of your lighting system in 16.8 colors, we can leave it in a static color or select various flashing, breathing and palpitation effects among others, in the latter we have a bar to adjust its speed. This mouse will be spectacular on the desktop.

After several days using the Ozone Exon X90 we can safely say that the manufacturer has done an excellent job. The mouse has a design that feels very comfortable in the hand and does not slip, something that is very important for players who spend hours each day in their favorite titles. The lighting provides a very nice visual touch, it is something that seems silly, but when you get used to it you miss it if you don't have it. The brand has installed the best optical sensor today, which immediately means that this mouse will offer us the best precision on the market. The PixArt PMW 3360 works flawlessly, with no tracking issues and is capable of working on any surface, you no longer need to use a mat.

The use of OMRON mechanisms guarantees excellent durability, something very important now that shooting games are so popular, with this mouse you can spend the day playing without fear that it will break soon. Finally, its management software is very simple to use and offers many possibilities, it is an important added value.
