Xbox One X is the most powerful console in the world, arrived with the promise of offering a native experience at 4k resolution and capable of reaching 60 FPS, or at least that's what Microsoft claimed at launch. Player Unknown's Battlegrounds is the flagship release of this end of the year for the new Microsoft console and has come plagued with problems.

Player Unknown's Battlegrounds is a mess on Xbox One

Player Unknown's Battlegrounds is out now for Xbox One X, a game that has never been well-optimized for PC, making it hard to believe the 4K at 60 FPS that its developers promised for the Xbox One X. Within days of its Console premiere was said to run at 30 FPS, finally the game has arrived so we can already see its performance.

Currently Player Unknown's Battlegrounds is in Early Access condition for the Xbox One, which means that it can receive significant improvements both in performance and in the graphics section and all kinds of improvements in general.

Digital Foundry has done an in-depth review of Player Unknown's Battlegrounds, the game runs at 1080p on Xbox One and 4K on Xbox One X, the first of which does so with a very low level of graphic quality with very poor textures. Even the Xbox One X is unable to maintain 30 FPS, the most serious thing is that in case many players join the screen, the framerate falls to 15 FPS, so the experience is far from optimal. Of course in the case of the Xbox One it is even worse with a lower average framerate and much more consistent drops.

This shows that Player Unknown's Battlegrounds is a very demanding title that needs not only a very powerful GPU, but it is also very demanding in terms of CPU.
