In 2018, and for the eleventh year in a row, the tech giant Apple once again topped the Fortune list as the most admired company on the planet.

Apple, the envy of the world

Apple has thus placed itself ahead of another giant of technology and commerce, Amazon, which, also for the second consecutive year, has positioned itself as a finalist in this list, occupying second place, while Google's parent company, Alphabet, Warren Buffett's holding company, Berkshire Hathaway, and the Starbucks coffee chain have completed third, fourth and fifth places respectively.

Apple has been at the forefront of all categories including innovation, management quality, social responsibility, use of corporate assets, financial strength, quality of products and services, and global competitiveness. These rankings have been determined by a total of 3, 900 executives, directors and securities analysts who have each selected the ten companies they most admire, as we can read in Fortune:

As we have done in the past, Fortune collaborated with our partner Korn Ferry on this corporate reputation survey. We start with a universe of approximately 1, 500 candidates: the 1, 000 largest companies in the US. USA Classified by income, along with non-US companies in the Fortune's Global 500 database that have revenues of $ 10 billion or more. We then apply the assortment to the highest-income companies in each industry, a total of 680 in 29 countries. The best rated companies were chosen from that group of 680; the executives who voted in the companies of that group. ”

The complete Fortune list includes a total of 50 companies ranging from other technology giants such as Microsoft in seventh place and Facebook in number twelve, to current brands and icons such as Coca-Cola in 18th and McDonald's in 37 °. On the other hand, Adidas has entered this list for the first time.
