New data has come out of AMD's new Ryzen 2000 processors. In addition to the Ryzen 5 2600 that was previously discussed, data has appeared from the eight-core Ryzen 7 2700X.

New Ryzen 7 2700X data shown

The clock speeds for the Ryzen 7 2700X are at 3.7 GHz in base mode and 4.1 GHz or even more in turbo mode. At the same time, it is determined that the Ryzen 5 2600 reaches frequencies of 3.4 GHz and more than 3.8 GHz under the same conditions. Uncertainties in the exact frequencies of the turbo mode would be due to XFR technology and Precission Boost 2.0.

The Ryzen 7 2700X's high operating frequency fuels the hope that AMD's new flagship Ryzen 7 2800X will come with a significantly higher maximum operating frequency of 4 GHz, which could be expected to be at least 300 MHz higher than 2700X so we could be talking about touching 4.5 GHz or even reaching them. If this is true, it would be possible to exceed 4.5 GHz with manual overclocking, although we should not expect a large margin. You could also expect a 4 GHz base frequency on the company's new best processor, although perhaps this is already more complicated to achieve.

The AMD Ryzen 2000 are manufactured with the new 12nm FinFET process from GlobalFoundries, which is a significant step forward compared to the 14nm FinFET of the first generation Ryzen processors, this will make it possible to achieve higher operating frequencies without increasing energy consumption.
